The International Olympic Committee is the guardian of the Olympic Games and the leader of the Olympic Movement.

A truly global organisation, it acts as a catalyst for collaboration between all Olympic stakeholders, including the athletes, the National Olympic Committees, the International Federations, Organising Committees for the Olympic Games, the Worldwide Olympic Partners and Olympic broadcast partners. It also collaborates with public and private authorities including the United Nations and other international organisations.

 

About the role

As a Corporate Events Trainee, you will join the Corporate Events and Services team and contribute to the planning, coordination and delivery of institutional meetings and events in Lausanne. Working alongside experienced event professionals, you will support a wide range of activities, from hospitality and guest services to event logistics and on-site operations.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event management within an international environment, while collaborating with a variety of internal stakeholders and external partners who contribute to the delivery of IOC events and meetings.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Manage daily business booking requests from IOC departments, coordinating event-related services including meeting rooms, audiovisual support, catering, transport, accreditation and accommodation.
  • Support the Corporate Events Manager and Client Coordinator in delivering assigned event projects, from planning through on-site execution to final tear-down.
  • Coordinate the set-up and follow-up of travel, hospitality, accommodation and accreditation arrangements for Olympic family members and IOC guests in Lausanne, working closely with partners such as hotels, congress centres, marketing agencies, sponsors and local authorities.
  • Perform day-to-day administrative activities, including data entry, contract processing, invoice validation, correspondence and filing.
  • Assists with setting up meeting rooms, including room management, seating arrangements and technical facilities.
  • Coordinate meals, receptions and other event-related activities, including menu selection, guest lists, invitations, mailings and welcome packs.

 

Our requirements

  • Recent graduate from a hotel school, university or equivalent education in hospitality, event management or a related field.
  • Fluency in French and an excellent command of English.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and maintain excellent attention to detail.
  • Proactive and resourceful, with a willingness to take initiative and learn.
  • Comfortable interacting with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Confident and outgoing, with a customer-focused approach and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with suppliers and service providers.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Previous experience in events, hospitality or customer service is an asset; candidates with limited professional experience are encouraged to apply.
