The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is the guardian of the Olympic Games and the leader of the Olympic Movement. A truly global organisation, it acts as a catalyst for collaboration between all Olympic stakeholders, including the athletes, the National Olympic Committees (NOCs), the International Sports Federations (IFs), Organising Committees for the Olympic Games, the Worldwide Olympic Partners and Media Rights-Holders. As a Financial Accounting and Controlling Specialist, you will be responsible for GL Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Project Management activities to ensure transactional accounting, financial control, statutory and IFRS reporting, and consolidation for assigned entities.
Key Responsibilities:
GL Accounting:
- Responsible for GL accounting activities across assigned entities, take ownership at both general ledger and project levels.
- Responsible for monthly closing activities, reconciliations, and controls, including intra/intercompany reconciliations and timely balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
- Prepare financial statements (IFRS and Swiss law), including reporting packages, translations, reconciliations, and consolidation.
- Ensure all controls assigned to the function are documented
- Maintain effective communication and provide customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage SAP modules, including interactions with other ERP systems, maintenance of accounting hierarchies, and foreign exchange revaluations.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors for operational and financial audits.
- Prepare pro-forma financial statements and other forecasts as required.
Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Act as the primary interface between the Finance department and other departments.
- Lead budgeting and financial forecast processes, ensuring continuous improvement of tools and solutions.
- Provide timely, accurate, and high-quality reporting and analysis, including gap analysis, cost and revenue drivers, KPIs, budget, financial forecasts, and treasury flows.
Qualifications:
- Accounting/Business/Economics degree or equivalent
- Swiss Certified Accountant certification or equivalent is a must
- Proven experience of providing high-level support within an international or multinational company or big Four
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS and Swiss law), financial governance principles and audit practices
- Demonstrated knowledge of ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA is a plus)
- Reporting capabilities such as SAP Analytics Cloud or Power BI is an advantage
- Excellent business writing and oral communications skills in English and French
