The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is the guardian of the Olympic Games and the leader of the Olympic Movement. A truly global organisation, it acts as a catalyst for collaboration between all Olympic stakeholders, including athletes, National Olympic Committees (NOCs), International Sports Federations (IFs), Organising Committees for the Olympic Games (OCOGs), Worldwide Olympic Partners and Media Rights-Holders. It also works with public and private authorities, including the United Nations and other international organisations.   

  

If you are a recent university graduate and the vision to build a better world through sports inspires you, this is a unique opportunity to contribute to the Olympic Movement within the IOC. As Summer Sports Trainee, your mission will be to support the IOC Sports Department in their work with International Federations and Organising Committees of the Olympic and Youth Olympic Games, and the Olympic Qualifier Series. 

 

 

Summer Sports Trainee’s main responsibilities: 

  • Support the Summer team in their work with the Sport Functional Area (FA) of future Olympic and Youth Olympic Games Organising Committees (Dakar 2026, Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032) and the Olympic Qualifier Series (2028).
  • This includes assisting with the preparation of activities such as International Federation (IF) events, Coordination Commissions and Delivery Partner Meetings.
  • Contribute to the review and update of sport documentation, including but not limited to policies for the Olympic Qualifier Series and Los Angeles 2028.
  • Support the team with tracking milestones, risks and opportunities for the various editions of the Games and the Olympic Qualifier Series.
  • Support the team in their work with Summer International Federations, including the organisation of meetings and events at Olympic House.
  • Perform various administrative tasks including the preparation of Executive Board decisions, reports, presentations and IF correspondence, and support with the team coordination and planning (meetings, agenda, minutes, budget, calendar, etc.)
  • Support the team with projects related to Fit for the Future.
  • Assist with the development and management of the IF SharePoint collaborative sites.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master degree
  • Fluent French and English speaking and writing
  • Experience in project coordination
  • Good knowledge and command of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good knowledge of videoconferencing systems such as Teams and Zoom
  • Knowledge of SharePoint and Smartsheet is an asset
  • Experience in a national or international sport event or organisation is an asset
